Why Do We Need Door to the Core?

SVUSD has identified that a requirement of the Common Core is to use technology in three primary ways.

  1. Research
  2. Collaboration
  3. Presentation

In order for students to gain skills in these areas SVUSD has determined that 1:1 and BYOD initiatives are necessary.

1/6/15 TurnItIn Services Integrated with Haiku

5/27/2014: First Wave of Chromebooks Deployed

We have just completed the process of deploying over 7,000 Chromebooks to our first wave of 4th, 7th, and 10th grade classrooms. As SBAC testing closes, trained teachers will have the opportunity to experiment with the devices before the end of the school year ends. Each of this first wave of teachers will be able to begin Day 1 of the 2014-2015 school year as a 1:1 classroom.


4/29/2014: Chromebook Training in Full Swing

We are in the middle of Chromebook trainings at the 4th, 7th, and 10th grade levels. It has been exhilarating and a bit chaotic as we watch our SVUSD teachers begin implementing the devices and work with SBAC testing at the same time.
